A hole in a beautiful red sea fan made the perfect frame for a background diver in the Solomon islands.

다이버/부채산호

아름답고 빨강 부채산호에 있는 구멍은 솔로몬 제도에서 다이버의 배경으로 더할 나위 없는 좋은 프레임이 됐다.

EYES

Shot in Ambon, Indonesia, I used a pair of custom made “snoots” to very selectively illuminate only the eyes of this stargazer which was buried in the sand. Just inches out of the frame, the snoot tips.

두 눈

인도네시아 암본에서 찍은 사진으로, 나는 모래 속에 파묻혀 있는 이 얼룩통구멍(stargazer)의 눈만을 집중적으로 조명하기 위해 주문 제작한 한 쌍의 ‘스누트’를 사용했다. 프레임에서 불과 몇 인치까지 스누트의 끝을 갖다 대었다.

LILY PADS

Just a few yards offshore from my girlfriend’s cottage, in northern Ontario, Canada, a field of lily pads could be found. Occasionally, these lily pads grow in tight intertwined groups like the one seen in this photograph. I waited until the sun began to drop lower in the sky, in order to get the god-like sun rays to have as much impact as possible.

수련 잎

캐나다 온타리오 북부에 있는 내 여자 친구의 시골집에서 해안으로 몇 야드 가면 수련의 잎으로 덮인 곳이 있다. 이 사진에서 보는 것처럼 간혹 수련 잎은 서로 빽빽하게 얽힌 군락들을 이루어 자란다. 나는 태양 광선이 신성한 효과를 가능한 한 많이 내도록 하기 위해 태양이 하늘에서 더 낮게 내려오기 시작할 때까지 기다렸다.

BUBBLES

In just 3 feet of water in one of several mangroves of Indonesia's famed Raja Ampat, a small patch of algae was releasing gas bubbles very very slowly. With my camera focus locked, I waited for a single bubble to become isolated from the rest before taking this photo.

기포(버블)

인도네시아에서 유명한 라자 암팟의 여러 맹그로브 숲 중 하나로, 수중 3피트에 있는 작은 조류 무리가 기포를 아주 천천히 내보내고 있다. 나는 카메라 포커스를 고정시킨 채 하나의 기포가 나머지에서 분리되기를 기다렸다가 이 사진을 찍었다.
