Chase Weir

He is Chase Weir, He is a professional photo grapher and video grapher from Guam. He has been professionally taking photos for about 3 years now. He originally started with a Go Pro and now He shoot with my Panasonic Gh4 in a nauticam housing, Inon Z-240 strobes, and my UK E-led pro lights.
He was a boat captain on Guam for 6 years and started taking photos while on our dive trips. Now He has his own production company, Liquid Soul Industries and is able to travel throughout Micronesia and the Northern Mariana Islands taking photos of reefs and promoting conservation.

Last Light
‘Last Light’ was taken in Yap, Micronesia at a dive site called ‘Vertigo’ during the 2016 Manta Fest put on by the local resort Manta Ray Bay Resort. The dive site is known for its abundance in black tip sharks, gray reefs, and white tips. The photo was taken just after the sunset with my 8mm fisheye lens.

‘Last Light’는 미크로네시아의 얍(Yap)에서 2016년 만타 페스트(Manta Fest) 기간 동안 현지 리조트인 만타레이 베이 리조트(Manta Ray Bay Resort)에서 묵으면서 ‘버티고(Vertigo)’라는 다이빙사이트에서 촬영하였다. 이곳은 black-tip sharks, gray reef sharks, white-tip sharks 등이 많은 곳으로 알려져 있다. 이 사진은 일몰 직후에 8mm 어안렌즈로 촬영하였다.

BLUE
‘Blue’ was taken in Chuuk, Micronesia on the mooring line of the Unkai Maru. The Unkai was sunk during ‘Operation Hailstorm’ in WW2. The mooring line of the ship was encrusted in all the these beautiful barnacles.
‘Blue’는 미크로네시아 축(Chuuk)의 운카이 마루(Unkai Maru)에 묶여있는 계선줄(묘박줄, mooring line)을 찍은 것이다. 운카이(Unkai)는 WW2의 ‘Hailstorm Operation’ 중에 침몰되었다. 계선줄에는 아름다운만각류(barnacles)들이 붙어 있었다.

Private Island
‘Private Island’ was taken in Ulithi, Micronesia in Feb 2017. Ulithi is an outer island of yap and in this photo diver ‘Madeline Bresnahan’ dives in the channel between our two private islands where we had gone camping for 2 days.
Private Island’는 2017년 2월 미크로네시아 Ulithi에서 촬영한 사진이다. Ulithi는 얍(Yap)의 바깥 섬이다. 이 사진에서 보이는 다이버(모델)인 ‘Madeline Bresnahan’은 2일간의 캠핑을 가서 2개의 개인 섬 사이의 채널에서 뛰어들었다.

Sunbathing Octopus
‘Sunbathing Octopus’ was taken at Yap caverns dive site in Yap, Micronesia. This octopus was swimming between 2 boulders and stopped in the middle of the sand channel to stare at the beautiful sunbeam coming down.
‘Sunbathing Octopus’는 미크로네시아 얍(Yap)의 얍 케번스(Yap caverns)라는 다이빙사이트에서 촬영하였다. 이 문어는 2개의 바위 사이에서 유영 중이었고 모래 채널 중간에 멈춰 서서 아름다운 햇빛을 응시했다.

Doubles
‘Doubles’ was taken in Yap, Micronesia at a dive site called ‘Vertigo’. The dive site is known for its abundance in black tip sharks, gray reefs, and white tips. the site is only 5~15m deep before the steep drop off to 50m
‘Doubles’는 Micronesia 얍(Yap)의 ‘Vertigo’라는 다이빙사이트에서 촬영하였다. 이 다이빙사이트는 black-tip sharks, gray reef sharks, white-tip sharks 등이 많은 곳으로 알려져 있다. 이곳의 수심은 5~15m이고 드롭오프는 50m 이상이다.

Cave Hunter
‘Cave hunter’ was taken in Guam at a dive site called ‘Toguan Bay’. Diver Jennifer Weir(my sister) and myself were exploring the cave and cavern system it’'s a very neat place to explore and its depth ranges from 5~15m.
‘Cave hunter’는 괌(Guam)의 ‘Toguan Bay’라는 다이빙사이트에서 촬영하였다. 다이버 Jennifer Weir(여동생)와 함께 케이브와 케번 다이빙을 하고 있었는데 수심이 5~15m이고 시야는 좋았다.

Resting
‘Resting’ was taken in Chuuk, Micronesia inside the ship wreck the Yamagiri Maru. The Yamagiri Maru was sunk during ‘Operation Hailstorm’ in WW2. The wreck sits in the lagoon listing on its side. Not all the remains were recovered after the war and this sailor stay resting with his ship.
‘Resting’는 미크로네시아 축(Chuuk)의 야마기리 마루(Yamagiri Maru) 난파선 내부에서 촬영하였다. 야마기리 마루는 WW2의 ‘Hailstorm Operation’에서 침몰되었다. 난파선은 라군 언저리에 위치한다. 전쟁 후에 모든 유골이 수습되지는 않았는데 이 선원은 그의 배에 쉬고 있다.

The Explorer
‘The Explorer’ was taken in Chuuk, Micronesia inside the Kensho Maru. Dive Shop Manager, James Benito from Truk Lagoon Diver Center, explores the inside of the ship just underneath the skylights.
‘The Explorer’는 미크로네시아 축(Chuuk)의 켄쇼 마루(Kensho Maru)에서 촬영하였다. Truck Lagoon Diver Center의 다이빙샵 매니저 James Benito가 채광창 바로 밑의 배 내부를 탐험하고 있다.

Chomp Chomp
‘Chomp Chomp’ was taken at dive site ‘New Drop-off’ in Palau, Micronesia. Diving with our guide ‘Udi’ from Fish n’ Fins, we spotted this guy who wanted to take a bite out of my dome!
‘Chomp Chomp’는 Micronesia 팔라우(Palau)의 ‘New Drop-off’라는 다이빙사이트에서 촬영하였다. Fish n' Fins의 가이드 ‘Udi’와 다이빙을 하면서 이녀석을 발견했다!

Cuttlefish
‘Cuttlefish’ was taken at dive site ‘cabbage patch’ in Yap, Micronesia. The cuttlefish was in about 15m of water protecting its eggs.
‘Cuttlefish’는 미크로네시아 얍(Yap)의 ‘cabbage patch’라는 다이빙사이트에서 촬영한 것이다. 오징어는 알을 보호하기 위해 약 15m의 수심에 있었다.
