Indra Swari W (Indonesia)
For Indra the ocean holds magnificent power, yet it gives her the sense of calmness which allows her to interact with her subjects in their environment.
Throughout her 15 years of underwater photography, she has tried to capture the beauty of the marine environment in the treasure of colours offered by the creatures that inhabit the blue water. In doing so it is her hope that her pictures share not just the beauty of this world, but through reflecting the natural behaviour of these marine creatures raises awareness on how fragile this environment can be.
Her passion for both large and small creatures comes through the pictures she captures, truly bringing them and their world to life for us all to appreciate and enjoy. Indra's passion for wildlife, both above and below water, was ignited at an early age by nature documentary maker Sir David Attenborough, who she finally got to meet in person when she won the underwater category of the BBC/Natural History Museum Wildlife Photographer of the Year.
바다는 웅장한 힘을 지니고 있다. 그녀는 바다에서 평온을 되찾을 수 있고, 바다환경 속의 객체들과 상호 교감 작용을 하고 있다.
15년 동안 수중사진 촬영을 하면서 그녀는 푸른 바다에 서식하는 생물들이 펼쳐 보이는 보석같은 색상들의 아름다움과 해양 환경의 경이로움을 카메라에 담으려 했다. 그러면서 그녀는 자신의 사진을 통해 사람들이 수중의 아름다움을 공유할 뿐만 아니라, 해양생물의 일상을 사진으로 담아 생물들의 환경이 얼마나 취약한지에 대해 인식하고 보호해 주기를 바란다.
크기와 상관없이 해양생물에 대한 그녀의 열정은 그녀가 카메라에 담는 사진을 보면 알 수 있고, 해양생물과 그들의 세계에 활력을 불어넣어 우리 모두가 감상하고 즐길 수 있기를 희망한다. 수상과 수중에서 모두 야생동물에 대한 그녀의 열정은 젊었을 때 자연 다큐멘터리 제작자인 데이비드 애튼버러에 의해 시작됐다. 그녀는 올해의 BBC/자연사 박물관 야생동물 사진작가 수중부문상을 수상하게 되면서 마침내 그를 개인적으로 만나게 되었다.

Rhinophias
Even though they are not small, Rhinophias are difficult to find due to their
ability to camouflage themselves to their surroundings. This was found amongst
the purple algae, thus explains the purple markings spread all over it’s body.
Rhinophias가 크기는 작지는 않지만 주변 환경에 위장하기 때문에 찾기가 어렵다.
보라색 해조류 사이에 있어 몸 전체가 보라색으로 위장되었다. |

Ceratophyllidia Sp.4
Found amongst coral rubble while diving in Seraya - Bali. This nudibranch
has ceratas like small balloons that can shed easily when they are disturbed.
발리 Seraya에서 산호 잔해 사이에서 발견했다. 이 누디브랜치는
방해를 받을 때 쉽게 흘릴 수 있는 작은 풍선과 같은 ceratas가 있다. |

Manatee
It was a memorable experience to swim with these manatees.
They are a very social animals and i had the most friendly wild animal
encounter i have ever experienced. The picture shown a mother with 2
young ones. The one behind was trying to suckle to the mother.

이 매너티들과 함께 수영하는 것은 잊지 못할 경험이었다.
그들은 매우 사교적인 동물이어서 내가 경험한 것중에서 가장 친숙한
야생동물을 만난 것이다. 사진은 두 새끼와 함께 있는 어미 매너티이다.
뒤에 있는 것은 새끼에게 젖을 먹이려고 시도하는 장면이다.

I used a slower shutter speed to get the effect.

Giant frogfish and sardines
A giant Frogfish got excited as a school of sardines passes by.
It franticaly flagging it’s lures hoping at least one of sardine mistaken
it as a food and come close enough for the frogfish to
catch. Location Moalboal, Philippines

sea bed making up the museum in Musa, Mexico.

Humpback Whale
A humpback calf was playfully swimming around it’s sleeping
mother who was hanging vertically head down, intrigued
by us humans swimming on the surface. Once in a while
it came up to check on us but always went back near it’s mother.

Barracuda
This is a fully matured barracuda with a length about
1.5m and lives solitary. For a few years many divers have
been lucky to see it around the liberty wreck in Tulamben, Bali.
I was fortunate enough to see it up close and get a this picture.
길이가 약 1.5m이고 독립생활을 하는 완전히 성숙된 바라쿠다이다.
몇 년 동안 많은 다이버들은 발리 툴람벤 리버티 난파선 주변에서
볼 수 있는 행운을 가졌다. 그것을 가까이에서 촬영한 것이다. |
